2022/2023シーズン スノーボードアルペンチームコーチング体制について
平素より本連盟の選手強化にご理解とご協力を賜り誠にありがとうございます。
さて、2022/2023シーズン、スノーボードアルペンチームのコーチング体制がコーチ1名のみとなっていた件について、情報が錯綜したため、その経緯等をご説明いたします。
1 コーチ1名と契約更新しなかった経緯等
北京オリンピック開催中の2022年2月7日の夜に、あるコーチ（以下「当該コーチ」といいます。）から、竹内智香選手の担当コーチに対し、同選手が日本チームのウェアを着させて外国人を選手村の日本選手棟内の自室に入れているのではないかとの指摘（以下「竹内選手に関する指摘」といいます。）がSAJ他種目コーチからSAJ事務局にあり問題となっているとの指摘（以下「当該コーチの指摘」といいます。）がなされました。
同選手の担当コーチは、同選手が翌日に試合を控えていたため、当該コーチの指摘に関する事実を同選手に対して試合前には確認せず、試合終了後に確認したところ、同選手は、日本選手棟内の玄関で外国人と用具等の授受をした事実はあるが、外国人に日本チームのウェアを着させたことも、外国人を日本選手棟内の自室に入れた事実もないと回答しました。
当該コーチの指摘と同選手の回答が異なるとの報告を受けた本連盟は、当該コーチ及び同選手等の関係者から事情を聴取したところ、同選手が外国人を日本選手棟内の玄関に入れたことはありましたが、日本チームのウェアを着させた事実や自室に入れた事実は認定できませんでした。また、仮に日本選手棟内の自室に外国人が入っていたとしても、大会のガイドライン上は問題ありませんでした。そして、当該コーチによれば、実際には、SAJ他種目コーチやSAJ事務局以外の関係者から竹内選手に関する指摘を聞いたということであり、SAJ他種目コーチからSAJ事務局に指摘があり、SAJ事務局から自身に連絡があったという流れではありませんでした。
そのため、当連盟は当該コーチの指摘が適切ではなかったと判断し、この当該コーチの指摘により、チーム内で混乱が生じたことから、本連盟としては、当該コーチとの契約を継続できないと判断しました。
そこで、2022年4月以降の当該コーチとの契約を更新せずに任期満了で終了することにしましたが、スノーボードアルペンのコーチとして他に適任者が見つからないため、その後、本連盟においては、新たなコーチを選任できていません。
2 今回の公表に至った経緯等
本連盟が、選手及び関係者等に対し、当該コーチと契約更新しなかった経緯等や現在まで新たなコーチ1名を選任できなかった経緯等に関する説明が不十分だったことにより、一部の選手及び関係者等に不安等を抱かせることになりました。
また、当該コーチとの契約を更新しないという判断が本連盟によるものではないとの誤った情報が錯綜し、そのことにより、竹内選手が精神的に苦痛を感じる事態が生じました。
そこで、本連盟は、選手及び関係者等の一部に対して改めて説明会を開催し、当該コーチとの契約を更新しなかった経緯等を説明しましたが、この説明会に参加できなかった選手、関係者及びスポンサー企業等もいるため、今回、文書にて公表することにしました。
本連盟は、これまで以上にコーチ人材の育成・教育を進め、選手を含む強化に携わるすべての人にとって、より良い強化体制の構築に努めて参りますので、ご理解・ご協力のほどお願いいたします。

Snowboard Alpine Team Coaching Structure for the 2022/2023 Season
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continuous understanding and cooperation in our efforts to strengthen the athletes of our association. On this document, we would like to announce the background of the situation that Snowboard Alpine Team had only one coach for the 2022/2023 season, since the information seemed to have been becoming complicated.
1 Background of not renewing the contract with one coach, etc.
On the evening of February 7, 2022, during the Beijing Olympics, a coach (“Coach”) mentioned to the coach in charge of Tomoka Takeuchi that a coach from other disciplines has informed SAJ that she might have let a foreigner (non-Japanese team member) wear Japanese team uniform and let him into her room in the Japanese athletes’ building in the athletes’ village (“Situation about Takeuchi”). And the “Coach” said to the coach in charge of her that this is a problem (“Situation by the Coach”).
Because she had the Olympic competition the next day, her coach did not confirm the “Situation by the Coach” with her on the day before the Olympic competition and asked her the next day. She responded that she had exchanged equipment with the foreigner at the entrance of the Japanese athletes’ building, but that she had never let the foreigner wear the Japanese team uniforms, nor had let him into her room in the Japanese athletes’ building.
Receiving a report that the “Situation by the Coach” and her response did not match, SAJ interviewed the “Coach”, her, other persons concerned and found out, that she had let the foreigner into the entrance of the Japanese athletes’ building, but could not establish the fact that she had let him wear the Japanese team uniforms or let him into her room. Even if the foreigner would have entered her room in the Japanese athletes’ building, it would not have been a problem under the guidelines of the Olympic Games. Additionally, according to the “Coach”, he actually heard about the “Situation about Takeuchi” from a coach of other disciplines and other concerned people who were not related to SAJ office. It was not the case that the other discipline coach pointed the “Situation about Takeuchi” out to the SAJ office and the SAJ office contacted thereon the “Coach”.
Therefore, SAJ has concluded that mentioning the “Situation by the Coach” was not appropriate and determined that SAJ could not continue the contract with the “Coach” due to the confusion the “Coach” has caused within the team.
Following the conclusion, SAJ has decided to terminate the contract with the “Coach” without renewal after April 2022. However, since no other suitable person has been discovered as a Snowboard Alpine coach, SAJ has not assigned a new coach yet.
2 Background of this announcement
Due to inadequate explanation from SAJ to athletes and those who were concerned about the background of not renewing the contract with the “Coach” and the suspension to assign a new coach until now, some of them have been anxious about the situation. In addition, there was a misunderstanding that it was not SAJ that had determined not renewing the contract with the “Coach”, which caused Takeuchi mental anguish. Therefore, SAJ has held an explanation conference for those who were concerned. However, since some of them were unable to attend the conference, SAJ has decided to make an announcement with this document.
In order to build a better coaching system for all those who are involved in strengthening athletes, including athletes, we will continue further development and education for coaching.
